Gathering Friends is a full service quilt shop offering over 3,000 bolts of fabric
and the newest in notions and patterns. Sisters-in-law, Kathryn Squibb and Deborah
Jacobs renovated the quaint 1902 building to its original state. They design their
own original patterns and books.
We are located at the only stoplight in Bird Island, a town of 1,100 residents.
Other unique specialty shops add to that small town flavor. In August of 2004,
Gathering Friends expanded into the neighboring buildings. The quilt shop now
boasts over double the space and has the beautiful addition of a gift shop.
Many good friends have been made along the way and the shop clearly radiates
warmth and charm. Gathering Friends is truly what the name implies... a gathering
of friends!
